Samsung IIFA Awards 2004
The evening saw A-list Bollywood stars come out in full force, all under one roof. Some 500 fans had waited outside the stadium to see their idols at the red carpet before the awards. The luckier ones had purchased their tickets earlier for the sold-out ceremony.
Among the performers that evening were Shah Rukh Khan, who danced to the hits of Dilip Kumar, and Preity Zinta who recreated the magic of Madhubala. Newcomer Vivek Oberoi paid a tribute to Amitabh Bachchan, while Arshad Warsi, Shahid Kapoor, Yana Gupta-Amrita Arora and Isha Koppikar also shared the limelight their numbers. Hosted by Rahul Khanna, Mahima Choudhury and Celina Jaitley, the IIFA Awards was inaugurated by IIFA Brand Ambassador, Mr Amitabh Bachchan and the Trade and Industry Minister (Singapore), Mr. George Yeo. The chief guest was President S.R. Nathan.
The Singapore IIFA Weekend witnessed a host of events that left Singaporeans, and visitors who flew in for the events, enthralled. The IIFA events started with the IIFA World Premiere of Mani Ratnam's 'Yuva' starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukherji, Kareena Kapoor and Esha Deol and the Tamil version of Yuva 'Aayitha Ezuthu' starring, Madhavan, Surya, Siddharth, Trisha, Mira Jasmine and Esha. The second day saw the IIFA Forum, attended by esteemed Indian and International cinema experts and local media players.

May@Singapore Indoor Stadium - After a whirlwind week that included a world
premiere, an industry forum, celebrity football match, the International Indian
Film Academy (IIFA) fever culminated in a glamourous awards ceremony over the
weekend at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. 
Attended
by over 6,000 screaming fans, some of whom had come from India, Indonesia,
Malaysia and even the Middle East, the 4.5 hour show was more than worth every
penny. 
Having
come a long way since its launch four years ago at the Millennium Dome, London,
the IIFA ceremony has grown into a three-day extravaganza showcasing the best of
Indian cinema and providing a platform for interaction with global media. 
This was followed by IIFA Foundation Celebrity Football Match held at the
Jalan Besar Stadium. Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Rahul Khanna,
Zayed Khan, Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sanjay
Kapoor, Bobby Deol played alongside Singapore's own football stars.
